JPG were appointed by main contractor Leeds based Wates Construction to deliver a brand new £6million, 3,178 square metre building for Newlands Primary School in Morley, Leeds, which will expand the school’s capacity to provide 630 places for children aged three to 11 years, and an additional 39 nursery places.

The new building is built on the school’s playing fields and the existing 1960s school building was demolished to make way for new sports fields, including a rugby pitch, which is also available for community use.

The project was procured through the YORbuild construction framework, one of three construction frameworks that aim to provide a competitive procurement solution for local authorities, public sector and third sector bodies and their communities within the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Construction on the new Leeds City Council owned building began in July 2012 and completed on programme in July 2013.
