Our Strategic Land and Infrastructure teams are pleased to announce that planning consent has been granted for a development of more than one million sq ft of new employment space on a site off the M1 in South Yorkshire.

Our client, Harworth Group, received approval for development of their 95-acre site on either side of Dearne Valley Parkway which will bring forward the second and third phases of the Gateway 36 development.

The hybrid application includes outline plans for industrial and distribution space, together with associated internal access roads, landscaping and drainage.

Detailed plans were prepared by our Strategic Land team for the substantial earthworks required to restore this former colliery site. Our Infrastructure team provided detailed information for the creation of access points, including a new roundabout on the Dearne Valley Parkway, and phase one of a link road which will open up potential further development opportunities in the area.

It has been estimated that the development could support the creation of approximately 2,500 jobs.
