JPG provided structural, civil, and geotechnical engineering consultancy services for the major distribution facility at HBC Fields, delivered on behalf of client Marshalls CDP.
Spanning 33.5 acres, the development required a coordinated and technically robust engineering approach to support the construction of a 514,000 sq. ft. warehouse and three storey office complex designed to accommodate large-scale logistics operations. With direct access to the M62 and strong links to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the site is set to become a key logistics hub and is expected to create over 1,000 jobs.
The site presented a series of engineering challenges, including variable ground conditions, extensive earthworks, and the need to integrate new infrastructure across a wide development footprint. JPG’s multidisciplinary team delivered a comprehensive suite of solutions, from ground improvement and foundation design to drainage strategies and external works. Close collaboration with Marshalls CDP and the wider project team enabled proactive resolution of on-site constraints and seamless coordination across all disciplines.
The successful delivery of this large-scale project reflects JPG’s technical expertise and commitment to providing practical, commercially focused engineering solutions that support both client ambitions and regional development.
