The Transport Planning Team at JPG has a broad range of knowledge and is well placed to support our clients through the planning process. We provide bespoke solutions for every project with sound planning and engineering advice at all stages of development.
We are able to provide a range of Transport Planning services, tailored to the site and the client’s requirements:
- Site Access Appraisals – We are able to undertake a pre-planning exercise in order to assess the suitability of a site for development. This includes a review of potential access locations and associated constraints, as well as a review of the local transport network in order to highlight any potential issues relating to the availability of sustainable transport or junctions which may require mitigation as a result of development.
- Transport Assessments – As part of a planning application a comprehensive Transport Assessment (or Statement) detailing the proposed development and an evaluation of the likely transport impact of the development on the highway network is required depending on the size of the development. Sustainable transport and access to facilities is also considered within this report and it is required to adhere to local and national planning policies.
- Travel Planning – Planning applications are often accompanied by a Travel Plan which includes hard and soft measures to reduce the number of vehicle trips generated by a development. JPG have experience in the preparation of Travel Plans which are written to meet the requirements of policy and the clients needs.
- Junction Capacity Assessment – As part of a Transport Assessment and some Transport Statements junction capacity assessments will need to be undertaken. The Transport Planning team at JPG are able to produce capacity assessments for all junction types and identify where increases in capacity are required.
- Highway Design – As part of our Transport Planning service we provide Highway Design advice and have the ability to provide preliminary access and highway layout designs to support clients through planning and at the feasibility stage of the design process.
