JPG Bridge the gap for TK Maxx

This month saw the installation of the final phase of this development with the new access footbridge being positioned into place. The project is nearing final completion and the new footbridge marks the last phase.

When complete this will provide 127,000m2 distribution warehouse for TJX who are the parent company for the popular designer discount stores TK Maxx.

The building is made up of a five span portal frame with the warehouse footprint dimensions 310m x 198m on plan, with an adjoining office pod and ancillary service buildings.  The height to eaves is approximately 20m, giving room for a three-storey mezzanine spread over 70% of the building footprint and with the remaining space given over to high bay racking.  JPG have designed concrete pad bases and with individual precast concrete driven piles supporting the internal mezzanine structure. The T K Maxx footbridge signals the final phase on the construction process.

Brighouse becomes well groomed with new retail scheme

Brighouse Retail Scheme completes

JPG along with Gregory Property Group and Stainforth Construction have completed the redevelopment of a former car showroom in Brighouse to deliver a new 40,000 sq ft retail scheme occupied by B&M and Pets at Home.

Both retailers successfully opened on the 21st October, with B&M launching one of its larger concept stores complete with a garden centre and Pets at Home incorporating its new vets and grooming concept.

Gregory Property Group acquired the site on Bradford Road last year and quickly moved to secure planning consent and complete construction in less than one year. It was able to secure immediate pre lets with B&M and Pets at Home due to the prominent location and subsequently secured forward funding for £5 million through an investment sale to Bramall Properties.

The Brighouse retail scheme has been designed engineered by JPG. JPG were involved with the site investigation of this brown field site. Developing the remediation strategy, compiling the remediation report, carrying out site inspection of the works and finally completing the validation report. All to the satisfaction of the local planning authority and the planning conditions imposed.

Foundations deigned by JPG comprised pile and pile caps with reinforced concrete ground beams with a ground bearing slab on vibro-compacted ground. JPG also completed the design and detailing of the onsite drainage including below ground attenuation storage tanks.
