St John’s School Northwood, Middlesex
The development comprised a new assembly building, theatre facility and four specialist classrooms on an existing school site. The facilities are spread over two storeys of a traditionally constructed masonry building with a pitched trussed timbers and a tile covered roof.
Due to the sloping site and weak near surface soils, both the ground and first floors were constructed in precast concrete units with a screed topping. Access was via precast concrete stair modules. Foundations were deep mass concrete continuous strip footings.
