Carcraft – Capitol Park
JPG were commissioned to design the civil engineering infrastructure associated with the estate and were later commissioned to provide structural engineering consultancy services for the Carcraft development located in its prominent gateway location off Junction 28 of the M1.
A significant cut and fill operation was required to provide a level development area to house the building and showroom, much of which is external. Soil stabilisation was carried out to areas of fill to improve the soil properties and large underground surface water storage facilities are provided to attenuate surface water flows. The structure comprised a steel frame with many exposed feature connections and the use of a coloured concrete topping achieved the high quality floor slab finish required by the client.
